HARTHILL COOKERY SCHOOL AND BARBECUE TERRACE

Nestled alongside Peckforton hills in the Cheshire countryside our cookery school is set in a restored Victorian village school providing a unique and tranquil place for you to enjoy. We offer over 40 different courses delivered by myself and our team of friendly tutors, Mary keeps us all in order and is the glue that holds everything together.

If you are looking for cookery course, bake off, barbecue, wood fired or fire pit cooking session in the North West you’ll find us 20 minutes from Chester, North Wales, Shropshire and Staffordshire and just an hour’s drive from Liverpool and Manchester. Come cook with us.

Knife Skills. 3rd August. Half day course. 2pm - 6pm

‘I wish I could chop like a Chef’ is something we hear often…well you can with a little instruction and some practice.

 If you love cooking as much as we do good knives, technique and rhythm are an asset to the enthusiastic cook. On the other hand blunt knives and poor technique can be frustrating and even dangerous.

On this 4 hour hands on course you’ll learn all about knives, how to create the all-important ‘edge’ how to maintain it and care for these valuable tools.

Practicing your new knife skills you will make a delicious Minestrone soup and vegetable stir fry to accompany chicken ballotine. 

All dishes are to take home.

Kitchen Saucery. 3rd August, half day course. 9am - 1pm

Would you like to learn how to make your own gravy and sauces? Now you can!

On this 4 hour hands on course;

You’ll make a tangy cheese sauce and rich savoury gravy as we work through creating smooth silky sauces.

Making a tomato sauce, plus a traditional Cumberland sauce will also help you develop your knife skills and we’ll round off with a fresh herb dressing.
