More and more people are enjoying the flavours of al fresco cooking & eating. Here in the school grounds we’ve created an outdoor cookery area including a wood fired oven crafted from reclaimed Cheshire brick.
Of course the oven can reach super high temperatures to cook fantastic pizza, but on this full day we’ll explore so much more than pizza. We’ll begin by learning to light the oven and as it heats we’ll talk about fuel, building up and retaining heat plus controlling and positioning the fire.
Back in the kitchen we’ll get started making the dough and preparing the ingredients for the dishes that we’ll eat through the day. Together we will make and enjoy: -
West coast fish hot pot & pesto pastry puffs
Goats cheese, honey and fig flatbreads
Paprika buttered chicken, hasselback potatoes with griddled vegetables
Wood fired rib eye steak & garlic mushrooms
French apple tart Chantilly cream
Marshmallows & chocolate fondue.
