Event Start Date: 15/12/2017 19:00
Event End Date: 15/12/2017 21:00
Join us at Harthill Cookery School for a drink, a bite to eat, a short helpful presentation on festive food safety followed by the chance to ask questions and socialize with friends.
Brian has taken thousands of chefs and cooks through their formal food safety qualifications and here’s a chance to tap into that knowledge and experience over a nibble and a natter at the school.
He’ll share with you some of the key points to ensuring the safety of your festive food whilst you relax and enjoy the surroundings of the restored & beautifully decorated school hall.
You’ll be greeted with a welcome drink & nibbles. We’ll then take you through some of the key stages in ensuring that your food is stored, cooked and served safely – we promise it won’t be dull and you’ll be provided with some sound knowledge.
We are then going to eat, drink & be merry as Brian shows you how to test if the turkey is cooked and how to carve it. Yes it’s turkey for supper…but not as you know it folks! Our turkey will be cooked on the barbecue on a rotisserie and gently smoked over cherry wood, sat underneath it will be hasselback potatoes scattered with sage & onion and soaking up the juices from our roasting bird. Add in a little creamed Savoy cabbage with home cured bacon and you have a wonderful social supper finished off with a mince pie from the school.
